Michele Catten, LCSW
Michele Catten is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in play therapy for the processing and healing of children’s traumas and developmental challenges.
She has spent the past 15 years volunteering and working in rural Northeastern Utah, with experience in art education and facilitating creative expression in people of all ages. This includes using her therapy background to develop and reinforce elementary school art curriculum and core curriculum for grades K-6.
Michele is trained in a variety of treatment modalities, with a primary emphasis on directive and non-directive play therapy for the processing and healing of children’s traumas and developmental challenges. She believes that strong physical, emotional, and mental wellness are the keys to quality of life and meaningful connection.
Michele appreciates the privilege of witnessing a child’s intuitive journey toward healing using their strengths of imagination, courage, and living life in the moment. Michele offers an evidence-based practice in treatment and honors the unique needs of each client and their current situation. She values a collaborative and educational approach to therapy with her clients and their families.
Michele lives in the beautiful Salt Lake Valley. For play, you can find her running in the park, doing yoga in the studio, hiking in the mountains, dancing in water aerobics, playing dress-up in her closet, eating out with friends, and picnicking with her family and 2 pomsky dogs, Kida and Baloo.
