Codependency has been described as “the addiction to look elsewhere.” It’s the belief that something outside of ourselves – people, places, things, behaviors, or experiences – will bring us fulfillment and joy.
Join addiction recovery specialist Nikki Myers, MBA, for an experiential training based on Yoga of 12-Step Recovery, a holistic model that addresses the physical, mental, and spiritual disease of addiction. In this weekend training, we will use lecture, discussion, experiential exercises, and the tools of yoga (including asana, pranayama, meditation, and chanting) to:
  • Examine the roots of codependency
  • Identify personal samskaras, the habit patterns that alter our thinking
  • Explore tools for healing through a process of awareness, self-love, and creativity

At its heart, codependency has to do with our search for our true selves. When we find our true Self and connect it with some bigger energy or higher power, we are free to relate to others in a way that opens deeply fulfilling relationships with ourselves, others, and the Divine.

This training is designed for anyone choosing to develop a deeper relationship with self. It is especially ideal for families that are impacted by addiction, and for those in the helping professions, such as yoga teachers, medical professionals, social workers, and healers. No prior yoga experience is needed to fully participate in and enjoy this weekend of learning.
**this workshop qualifies for 11 CEs for licensed mental health professionals in Utah and for 11 CEs for registered yoga teachers with Yoga Alliance
Saturday & Sunday
May 6th & 7th, 2023
12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
$275 Early Registration (by April 20th)/$325 After April 20th
Do I have to be a yoga teacher or a mental health provider to attend?
Absolutely not. This workshop is open to all adult humans who are looking to deepen their connection with self and learn about/undo patterns of codependency. Because of the credentials of the presenter and the hosting organization and the topics being covered, we are able to offer CE credits to individuals who might also be a yoga teacher or a mental health provider in UT.
I have never practiced yoga before. Can I still attend this workshop?
Of course! While yoga concepts and some gentle movement are part of the workshop, absolutely no prior yoga experience is needed to fully participate in and enjoy this weekend of learning.
I am both a yoga teacher and a mental health provider in UT. Can I earn CE credits for both professions?
Yes. We encourage you to maximize the benefit of the CE credits included in your registration. If you are a certified yoga instructor registered with yoga alliance and also a licensed mental health provider in UT, you can definitely use the credits earned from this workshop toward the CE requirements of both professions. There is no extra fee to do this.
